Meet Wanda M.Ed, LPC, Intern Supervisor
I have over 11 years of experience as an educator, having worked on Title I campuses in various roles. I ended my career in education as the first middle school Interventionist/Crisis Counselor (Mental Health Counselor) and the first African American Interventionist Counselor in my district.
With over five years of licensed counseling experience in both school and private practice settings. My specializations include trauma, grief, and anxiety, with a focus on racial, relational, and childhood trauma. I have extensive training in EMDR, Emotion Focused Individual Therapy (VICEFT), and other therapeutic practices.
In early 2020, I co-founded and serve as vice-president of Kinnect Wellness Network, an organization connecting BIPOC community members with BIPOC wellness professionals. Throughout my career, I have led and been featured in numerous workshops, presentations, podcasts, and trainings on various mental health topics, such as Mindfulness in the Workplace, FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) Presents Soul Care Sessions, Suicide and Self-Harm Awareness, and Mental Health in Schools.
My extensive experience in education and counseling inspires me to continue teaching and helping others on their professional counseling journeys. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and skills to support practicum students as they develop their expertise and grow into competent, compassionate counselors.
Meet Ileana, Intern Mentor
Ileana completed her Practicum and Internships at Wanda Hudson Consulting, where she gained valuable hands-on experience in the field of counseling. She graduated from Lamar University in August 2023 and has since become one of the provisionally licensed therapists at Wanda Hudson Consulting. She is also the owner of Sana Minds & Blooming Throughit.
In her role as the Intern Mentor, Ileana works closely with the interns, providing guidance, support, and mentorship as they navigate their professional journeys. Her dedication to fostering a collaborative and nurturing environment helps interns develop their skills and confidence in their counseling practice.
