Hello! My name is Ciara Raso, and I’m thrilled to be working with the Wanda Hudson Consulting team as a graduate-level student counselor. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of North Texas and am currently pursuing my Master of Arts degree in mental health counseling at Northwestern University.
Growing up as a Chicana, I witnessed the resilience of my community alongside the challenges of systemic barriers and generational trauma. These experiences shaped my passion for supporting clients in their healing journeys. My approach is grounded in a decolonial perspective on mental health, honoring the connections between mind, body, and spirit while respecting the diverse cultural and personal practices that bring meaning to my clients' lives.
I strive to create a safe, inclusive, and empowering space where clients feel respected and supported. I am committed to providing LGBTQ-affirming care and helping clients develop healthy coping skills, build confidence, and embrace resilience. My long-term interests include exploring how decolonial approaches to wellness can impact cognition and promote holistic healing.
I’m especially excited to work with individuals in Texas and to support local activists and organizers who are creating meaningful change in our communities. Healing is a courageous process, and I’m honored to walk alongside my clients as they navigate their unique paths toward growth and wellness.
